History
In 2000, the Flying Pig laid down its humble roots in the historic landmark Mount Kisco train station, waking up commuters and local residents with the aroma of fresh brewed gourmet coffee and fresh-baked breakfast fare. Loyal customers wanted more and requested a broader menu, along with take-out items to enjoy at home.
The Flying Pig Executive Chef Lesley Sutter responded to the call by expanding the breakfast menu, adding lunch and dinner menus, and furnishing the train station waiting room to accommodate eat-in diners. The popular take-out market featured signature Flying Pig dishes, like its popular pulled pork and chopped salad, plus organic meats, produce, and cheese from area farms.
Founded and owned by Cabbage Hill Farm owner Nancy Kohlberg, the Flying Pig has been a showcase and advocate for local, natural, and artisanal foods, sustainable farming, and small farmers throughout the area.
Under the direction of the Management team, the Flying Pig moved out of the train station and into its Lexington Avenue home at the end of 2006.
Who we are
The Flying Pig on Lexington is Northern Westchester’s standard bearer for local, natural, farm-to-table foods. With a menu that showcases farm-fresh foods from the Hudson Valley and beyond, the Flying Pig on Lexington captures the vibrancy of seasonal flavors like a fall vegetable salad with pomegranate and farm braised beets, a wintery blend of sherry-braised short ribs and chicken thighs with butter-braised leeks and wild mushrooms, and the delicate taste of spring baby greens dressed with a meyer lemon vinaigrette.

The Flying Piglet brings healthy fare to patients and their families at the Mount Kisco Medical Group. Fare includes fresh brewed gourmet coffee, an assortment of chilled beverages, and grab-and-go foods like muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, hearty sandwiches, and seasonal soups. The Flying Piglet is open from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Mission & Philosophy
The mission of the Flying Pig on Lexington is two-fold: to ensure that small local farms survive and thrive and to allow diners to experience the sensory joy of eating locally, seasonally, and healthfully.
